Can't add tax info to Shop Base Page or the Product Pages
I want to add tax to my products
I’ve succeeded in getting the Cart to show the added tax – but no tax information appears on the Shop Base Page or the Product Pages.
Have I done something wrong? Ideally, I want the customer to be alerted that there will be tax to pay from the time they see the Shop Base Page – so they do not feel cheated when they get to the Cart.
Here is what I’ve done so far:
I’ve gone to Dashboard – WooCommerce – Settings – Tax
I’ve selected ‘Enable taxes and tax calculations’ and ‘Display taxes on cart page’
Then I’ve created a Tax Rate called ‘United Kingdom’. Tax Class: Standard Rate, Label: VAT, Rate: 20%, Compound: Deselected, Shipping: Deselected
This information seems to make the ‘Cart’ page work correctly
There doesn’t appear to be anything on the Shop Base page to enable me to add tax information
When I go to the individual product pages there doesn’t appear to be anything either.
‘Product Data’ is set for ‘Simple Product’, ‘Virtual’ is selected, ‘Downloadable’ is deselected.
If I go to ‘Taxes’ in the tabs below, I have ‘Tax Status ‘set to ‘Taxable’ and ‘Tax Class’ set to ‘Standard’.
I can’t imagine the other settings will work. The other settings are:
For ‘Tax Status’: ‘Shipping Only’ or ‘None’
For ‘Tax Class’: ‘Reduce Rate’ or ‘Zero Rate’
