• While logged in as user with Customer role, products are added to cart. While logged in as user with Merchant or Merchant international (custom roles) role, products won’t add to cart.

    Role details:
Additional roles have been created with User Role Editor Plugin with duplication of Customer role’s permissions (though, only “Read” is to be found under Customer’s permissions).

    Tests:
    1. User with Customer role can add product to cart
    2. User with Merchant role can’t
    3. User with Merchant role && additional role Customer can’t
    4. User with Customer role && additional role Merchant can add product to cart
    5. Changing Role of user from Merchant to Customer does grant it “access” to add product to cart.

Could you please help? This issue unfortunately makes the plugin unusable at the moment 🙁

    Many thanks in advance.

I made a fresh test and successfully added 2 products to the cart after login as a user with subscriber role (only ‘read’ and level_0 capabilities).

I suppose that you have some plugin or add-on which changes a WooCommerce default behavior. Try to deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and test if Merchant user can add product to the cart. If he will can, activate plugins back one by one and make new test to isolate a reason.
