Can't add photos to existing gallery

My website was created for me by an outside professional and I will just be adding/deleting content and pictures. I have tried everything that looks correct to add some pictures to one of my galleries but just cannot get it to work. I have added the pictures to my media library. In gallery, Add pictures, I tried to import image folder and put in the path that the pictures were in but it put the pictures in a new gallery and I cannot move them to the gallery I want. I get this error message “Unable to write to directory /home/.sites/93/site37/web/wp-content/gallery/mariage. Is this directory writable by the server?” I can’t seem to find the place to change the default directory to have my own domain with the path wp-content/gallery/mariage. I do not know what /home/.sites/93/site37 comes from. I have tried to upload directly from my computer to an existing gallery and I get an error message as well. I can’t figure any of it out. Help!
