• I tried to add a new page today, everything went fine until when I tried to “view” it shows 404 Not Found.
The old pages I created long ago still exist.

I have a custom page.php file and it’s nearly the same with my index.php.

For your info, I do not have problems in Posts.

Can anyone guide me on where to check?
I am still using WordPress 1.5.3-beta1.
Perhaps some plugins created this problem?

Below is the plugin I use and are all latest versions.

  • Usually it is a .htaccess issue. At the moment of the creation of a new Page the .htaccess file has to be writable so that WP can write the proper rules for it (when using the “nice” permalinks, as you do).
When you wrote the “old” Pages, probably the rules were written into the .htaccess file – that’s why they can be accessed.

So I have to check the .htaccess in which directory?
