Can't add new pages

    Hello,

    I recently upgraded WordPress at 3.4.2 version, and unfortunately i forgot to create a backup. Of course, problems appeared.
    I cannot create new pages anymore. It gives me the next error:

    Server error
    The website encountered an error while retrieving http://internationalaffairs.ro/aplica-acum-2/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Reload this webpage later.
    HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

    I really need to create this page, because this page contains an application that people must download!

    I searched an hour over google, and found out that could be something with my .htaccess which i managed to locate, but i have no idea how to configure it to work again.Also, i have checked in errorslog and the following error appeared:

    [01-Oct-2012 22:42:31 UTC] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘/’ in /home/iavip/public_html/wp-content/themes/yield/page.php on line 36

    I think that the title error has nothing to do with my page errors but anyway.

    What is to be done? I and my team are really desperate in finding a solution! 🙁

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Well we’ve done it for good.
    Now we have the screen of death.

    Can’t do anything.

    We got it back.

    Thank you for your answer, we will approach it later.
    Thing is that we are not competent enough to install wordpress, and we are afraid of a small error that could lead to the screen of death.
