Can't active new plug ins or change permalink (1 post)

    After a long absence from managing my site, I tried to add a few new plug-ins, but received the following:

    /////////////
    Method Not Implemented
    GET to /wp-admin/plugins.php not supported.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    /////////////

    In the course of trying to troubleshoot this, I set my permalink structure back to default. When I tried to change it back, I now get this:

    ////////////
    Not Acceptable
    An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/options-permalink.php could not be found on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    ////////////

    After these problems, I noticed that an update for WP and my theme (Platform) were both available, so I installed them. No change to the problems. I was able to deactivate other, previously installed plugins with no problems. I've tried renaming the htaccess file, changing it's permissions, and adding/removing various bits of code I ran across looking for the fix. No solution yet. I also can't delete the new plugins I just added.
