• I’ve run into a problem where I can’t activate and update my plugins.

Before I get into that, I feel that I should add that yesterday a random database error came up on my site. I hadn’t touched my site in several days and so there shouldn’t have been any changes to anything. I’m still not sure what caused the error. I was able to contact my host and they fixed it.

Just thought I should include that bit–I have a feeling that it could somehow be related? Also probably worth noting is that this is a multisite installation.

So this morning I was trying to network enable a plugin. I was able to get it to work on the main site, but I wanted it on the subsites as well. It would say that the plugin was updated, but then when I refreshed the page, I’d see that it wasn’t. At first I thought it was the plugin, but then later I tried to update my plugins and the same thing happened.

I have WordPress update all the plugins and it runs through the process without any problem. It says that they’re all successful (image: http://bookstacked.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/plugins-issue.jpg). However, if I refresh the page or go to a new one, it says that the plugins have NOT been updated. I still get the notification at the top and they’re still listed as having not been updated.

I have no idea what’s up. I’m guessing that this is somehow related to the database issue (again–totally unsure as to what caused that).

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Hello,

I’ve been doing more research into this. I tried to use WordPress’s repair function. It found some errors in the database and said that it was not able to repair them. Here they are:

wp_options: 2 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly

And I also tried the Repair and Optimization tool as well and here’s what came up:

    The wp_users table is okay.
The wp_users table is already optimized.

    The wp_usermeta table is okay.
The wp_usermeta table is already optimized.

    The wp_posts table is okay.

    The wp_useronline table is okay.

    The wp_blogs table is okay.

There seem to be errors here as well but then it doesn’t list them…

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have no idea what all of this means. Thanks!

same problem here … can’t update plugins. Site goes to maintenance mode and the plugins do not update.
