[Resolved] Can't activate Jetpack on non-WP.com blog

  • I have installed Jetpack on two of my blogs.
    jnels.se
    gbg365.thesupercargo.com

It works well and I’m very satisfied. Now I’m trying to install it on a third blog, but I can’t. I keep getting told to “Sign in to your WordPress.com account to authorize the Jetpack connection.”
I don’t have one! As far as I know I didn’t need a wordpress.com account to install Jetpack on my other sites – as far as I know I used my wordpress.org account. Has something changed?

When I try to open a WordPress.com account I am channeled to a site to start a wordpress.com blog. I don’t want one! I just want to activate Jetpack on elinsstory.com

How can I do this please!

Yes – you do. You always have done. All you need is a wordpress.com account – not a wordpress.com blog as well.

I do apologise! You’re quite right.

Seems I’ve been mixing up WP.com and WP.org for months, wondering why the old password doesn’t work and resetting for a new one without thinking that they are two different sites.

    Jetpack working now.
