Can’t activate AMP for static homepage

    Hi.
    In settings I use Reader (classic) mode and Posts and Pages are checked.

    For all pages ?amp URL suffix shows AMP version, but /?amp just redirects to /
    And I can’t activate AMP in page edit screen, there is “AMP: Disabled” and “Edit” link just not work (on all posts or pages!), its just open, for example, /post.php?post=2&action=edit#amp_status
    Tried to use different browser, disable all other plugins and switch to default Twenty Seventeen theme, but still didn’t work.

    Installed AMP 1.4.2 and WP 4.9.13. Can’t update because it’s not my site 🙁

    @shumaher You will need to add cdn.ampproject.org to your CSP whitelist at host level. If you are unsure you can contact your hosting provider.

    I disabled CSP header at all and errors in Chrome console had go, but “Edit” link still don’t work. 🙁

    @shumaher Can you share more information on the issue. Are you unable to edit from your WordPress admin panel or using the “Edit Post” feature in the toolbar?

    I can’t edit from admin panel, here: /wp-admin/post.php?post=2&action=edit

    And other links in this “Publish” area works normally (Status/Visibility/Date/etc.)

    @shumaher As the enable AMP toggle is not working can you try switching temporarily to transitional mode before checking once more? While doing so please check using another theme?

    With “Transitional” mode AMP enables by default for the homepage, but with my custom theme there is no difference between AMP and “normal” desktop version of page. Perhaps I need to develop my theme for this to work. 🙁

    However i don’t want to do this – the “simple” template and Classic mode is fine for me!

    And the “Edit” link didn’t work after switching to “Transitional” or “Standard” modes. I set “Twenty Seventeen”, also disable all other plugins again, select plain/simple option in permalinks settings and delete .htaccess file.

    I don’t know more ways to exclude influence of other components to AMP.

    Tried fresh install of AMP 1.4.2 and WP 4.9.13 on my own server – same result. 🙁
    it is definitely a bug.

    @shumaher If you change your homepage template from your current template to the default template does it open in AMP?

    No. My last try was with default template activated.

    @shumaher Are you able to provide screenshots of the setting, along with any notices you see in the AMP plugin tab? If you want to open a new issue on the plugins GitHub including that supporting documentation we can investigate further.

    I can make a screencast of installation process. but a little bit later.

    @shumaher Thanks for the update, very useful. Does the same issue occur when testing with other browsers?

    Please also sure to change your admin credentials.
