• Hello!

I’m having an issue trying to access our website. Me and others have tried using the links that would get us to a login screen, but it keeps going back to the homepage. I’ve tried tracking down anyone with any access at all, but nothing seems to be working, or I’m hitting dead-ends.

Is there any other route I can take so we can get access to the site? Please let me know. Thank you!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • It looks like you have some form o redirection happening. This could be in two places.

Ideally before you do anything take a full backup.

Next log in to your hosting file manager or via FTP to access the files.

Find the ‘hidden’ file .htaccess and rename it there may be one in your root directory or maybe one in wp-admin – if you find them rename them to .htaccess-backup and try again. If that works – login – go to settings>permalinks and save ( to re-generate)

If it doesn’t work, it my be a security plugin or a redirection plugin mis configured. In which case in the file system go to wp-content and rename the folder plugins to plugins-backup this will deactivate all plugin. Log in if you can. Ten rename plugins-backup to plugins and reactivate one by one, leaving any security or redirection plugin to last. Checking each time in an incognito window that you can reach …/wp-admin.

    Hope you succeed.

I’m assuming I need access to our website hosting account to be able to gain the FTP, correct?

It all depends if you already have an FTP account, if you haven’t your hosting account will be the place to create it, however most hosting account have file managers which are often simpler to access than FTP.

If you have difficulty you can contact your hosting support.
