Try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

If neither of those worked, ask at http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/better-wp-security as this still could very likely be related to something their plugin changed.

iThemes security has locked you out of your site.

It can be a very long and drawn out task if you don’t know what your doing.

You most likely need to go in to the dashboard and reset the ithemes security lockout ip address table, or just delete the plugin altogether , drop the tables from the database, and re-install it.

I can’t get in the dashboard to delete it–that’s the problem, haha.

I’m all very new to this…. so you’ll need to dumb it down a bit for me, haha.

I meant into your database (phpmyadmin , through your host) . Sorry, didn’t mean dashboard >.<

I’ve used this post from another user in the past with great success (but if your new, it may be a bit difficult to understand)

If this is all foreign to you, and you need some real assistance you can reach out to me via email and I can help you out (I’m at work until 5). I know it’s generally frowned upon to take support over to email, but this is a rather daunting task if you have no idea where to start.

    IT’S FIXED!

Um, not exactly because I did what you told me to, or that you sent me those links–but you kept mentioning “PHPMyAdmin” and I had no idea what that was. I was crawling around my computer files trying to find the stuff you guys were talking about!

AND THEN I REALIZED IT WAS ON MY HOST SITE!

So thanks for mentioning it until it bugged me to pieces!

For paper trail, and anyone reading this, this is what I did:

I went to the wp-content and looked for something called ‘active_plugins’, and I changed the name to ‘active_plugins2’ which disabled all of my plugins–because the name is different. Then I logged onto my admin page, and went to the plugins, and deleted iThemes Security–because jeez!

Then I went back to the PHPMyAdmin, and changed the name back to ‘active_plugins’, signed back it–and it got rid of all the database for me, because it “no longer exists”.

    Score!

Perfect, I’m glad you found a solution! 🙂
