• Hello world,

    I can’t access my freshly installed local network admin using xampp.

    Brand new install, i haven’t installed any plug-ins. I followed this tutorial https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/setting-up-xampp/

    everything was going swimmingly until i tried to access the network administrator…

    I get a “404 error object not found” when trying to access http://localhost/wp-admin/network/

    More verbiage from the error page:
    (The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.)

    I have this weird feeling it’s something easy that I didn’t know to do.

    Deleted first WP install (and the database for it in phpmyadmin) and tried again, still same exact result.

    but I’ve tried a few things, and googled and googled and googled.

    Regular WP dashboard is fine, it’s only when i click to go to the network admin

    .htaccess

    # BEGIN WordPress

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

    RewriteEngine On

    RewriteBase /wp/

    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin

    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d

    RewriteRule ^ - [L]

    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) C:/xampp/htdocs/WP/$2 [L]

    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(.*\.php)$ C:/xampp/htdocs/WP/$2 [L]

    RewriteRule . index.php [L]

    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    and my wp-config.php

    <?php

    	define('ABSPATH', dirname(__FILE__) . '/');

    /** Sets up WordPress vars and included files. */
    require_once(ABSPATH . 'wp-settings.php');

    Database was supposed to be WP, seems to want to go lower case ‘wp’ though…

    I’m also unsure of where to put in passwords on http://localhost/phpmyadmin/

    site but I’ll tackle that after i get this fixed.

    Thanks support team!!
