Can't access my site at wp-admin login

  • I get this message when put in my login and password in my wp-admin logo box and hit enter. The site is still visible and operating but i cannot get to the files to update etc due to this problem.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/markhigg/public_html/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 220

    Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks. I have fiddled around in my cpanel and it has righted itself.
    Phew.

what did you do to fix it?

Even though i had updated to the latest version of wordpress as soon as they became available in my dashboard, when i went to my cpanel (which i don’t access that often) i noticed it said i had an older version installed?. I upgraded to the latest version there as well and had no problems after that. I thought upgrading from the dashboard was all i had to do but obviously now have to access cpanel every time there is a wordpress upgrade.
    Learning all the time:)
