It sounds like you’re logged in as a WP admin that is not the same as the WP admin who initially installed the plugin?
If you have multiple WordPress admins, you need to login as a WP admin that already have rights to the Simple:Press plugin. Any WP admins that were already created at the time the plugin was installed usually have the proper rights. But, if you created a new WP admin after that, a prior existing WP admin need to grant rights to the new WP admin under the FORUM->ADMIN menu option.
Check out the FAQ item about this in this forum located here: Admin rights
Thanks.
Hi, I am the original admin, but I recently granted forum admin rights to another user, so maybe they have the only forum admin rights now? How can I regain the admin rights of the original owner? Thanks.
Just have that admin grant you admin rights to the forum:
Have them go to FORUM->ADMINS->MANAGE ADMIN.
There should be a section for each wp admin.
Have them check all the boxes under your wp admin name
Click the UPDATE ADMIN CAPABILITIES at the bottom of the screen.
Hi, That does not seem to work. If I look in the database, I am the only one with admin rights, so clearly I haven’t made anyone else an admin. Confused.
Unfortunately it looks like someone messed with the forum admin rights somehow and removed your access. Or maybe the original wp-admin was deleted and your current admin is the new. Unfortunately there’s no easy way to get back admin access to the forum other than by directly manipulating the Simple:Press tables. There’s no backdoor to add a new admin for security reasons so you have to go directly to the DB.

And post #11 on this page might help as well: https://simple-press.com/support-forum/simplepress-6-general-topics/accidentally-deleted-my-sp-admin-account/page-2/
Ok.The first suggested post worked. Thanks.
Great, glad you’re all squared away.
