Support » Fixing WordPress » Can't access Dashboard

  • Hey everyone,
I can’t access my Dashboard after updating about 19 plugins (the theme didn’t update). Before that everything worked fine. I can reach the login page (username and password) but after that it just appears a blank page.

I’ve tried other browsers, private navigation, etc..

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

As you can see I’m kinda newbie on this so, two silly questions:
    – Is there any chance of losing everything while reseting plugins?
    – Same as above.. while renaming the theme directory?

Oh and btw, how can I acces phpMyAdmin? =P

    Thanks buddy!

    Hello,

If you deactivate a plugin, it will only effect the settings made on the plugin alone. You should always do a backup just in case anything bad happens.

You can access your phpMyAdmin through your hosting account.

    Regards

    KC
