  • Resolved ilikephp

I just moved my site from one domain to another. I followed the steps on wordpress for moving my domain and I have everything working on the site. I go to /wp-login.php and use my login and password but after I submit it shows a blank screen and doesn’t bring up my admin area. I have no plugins, and all the pages load fine but I can’t access any files within wp-admin directory. my .htaccess loads the root folder which is the same as the old domain. all the links were switched. i’m so confused on what could be wrong.

  • Rename .htaccess file and let wordpress create another one

I would, but I can’t login to my admin area to change my permalink structure.
I just downloaded wordpress 3.4.2 and uploaded the wp-includes and wp-admin folders and overwrite all the files, and still wp-login.php appears blank.

The only way to know what is causing the problem is see error log on your server or change
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
    in wp-config.php file

it may be false once the problem is solved change it back to false.

Changed to true, went to wp-login.php, logged in, still displays blank white page after. went to wp-admin/ still shows empty white page.

    I hate wordpress -.-

you did not get any error post your url see what i get

If i don’t use my correct password, it shows:

ERROR: Invalid username. Lost your password?
ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.

I’m using the newest version of Google Chrome, and Firefox. Both have cookies enabled.

When I do use my correct login credentials, it just goes completely blank.

if you have debug in wp-config.php to true you should some type of error on the page

The page is completely blank after I click login. The source just shows 3 blank lines, no tags at all.

Have you tried to switch themes using ftp rename your activated theme folder so that default theme and then see if you can login to rule out theme problem.

I renamed it, and it actually worked. Wow. Not sure why I didn’t think of that sooner.

that means that the theme you using is the problem.

I activated the theme again, and it kept everything besides the sidebars went inactive and then I upgraded to 3.4.2 just to keep wordpress new.

@closerstyle you need to start your own topic to get better help

Using ftp replace theme functions.php file from copy of your theme or rename your theme folder so that default theme opens.
