 * Hi,
 * I’m trying to set up a new site. After installing WordPress and getting my admin
   credentials, I try to access the admin page but it just comes up blank and nothing
   happens.
 * I’ve checked my other sites and they load just fine, but this one won’t access
   the admin page at all.
 * I’m a complete noob at this stuff, so I have no idea what might be the cause.
 * I just switched the nameserver from GoDaddy (where I purchased the domain) to
   HostGator (where I’m hosting it) about an hour ago. Could it be that the switch
   just hasn’t completed yet, even though the nameserver shows the proper HostGator
   credentials and the domain shows properly on my HostGator cPanel?
 * I also noticed that my other sites installed WordPress 4.7.1 when I first installed.
   Whereas this site, for whatever reason, installed 4.6.1. Could this be a cause?
 * I’m hoping it’ just an issue of the nameserver taking a while to upload, as I’ve
   literally done nothing but install WordPress and reached these issues.

 * Login trouble:
    Try reviewing this WP codex: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble](https://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble)
 * Updating 4.6.1:
    -Try **MANUALLY** updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress.
   zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders**
   EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory.** You may need
   to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before
   uploading the new ones. Please read the [Manual Update](http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update)
   directions first. – **Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything(
   including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really
   goes wrong. You can never have enough backups! **

 * The HostGator File Manager isn’t allowing me to delete entire wp-includes or
   wp-admin folders, so do I just delete the individual files inside and then upload
   the new ones?
 * The Manual Update doc says to delete the entire directory, but it’s not an option
   for me. I’m assuming that just leaving the folder and deleting the files inside
   will do the same thing.

 * Manually updated to WordPress 4.7.1.
 * It shows as the latest version in my HostGator cPanel, but didn’t change anything.
 * The Login Trouble page didn’t offer anything that appears to be able to fix it
   either.

 * I enabled debugging, but nothing happened.
 * Also, I wasn’t able to find debug_log or debug_display. Where would these be
   located?
 * EDIT: Never mind, I found it. But it still didn’t do anything. It didn’t create
   a log or anything.

 * Reading through [this page on propagation](http://support.hostgator.com/articles/when-will-my-domain-start-working-propagation),
   I think the issue is the nameserver just hasn’t caught up yet.
 * I’m welcome to try any other recommendations but I’m starting to think it’s just
   a “wait and see” situation.

 * – This propagation process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less)
   for DNS/nameserver records to fully propagate if. Second, different networks
   will update at different times during this period, so you may need to get in
   touch with them for more details. That is, bear in mind that just because one
   provider has updated their records, it doesn’t mean that another will. – During
   that time, your domain may go to its old location, and you may also receive a
   warning message in your browser about “redirect errors”.
    – If you still have
   trouble viewing the site after 72 hours have passed, please try clearing your
   browser’s cache. – If that doesn’t work, try clearing your local DNS cache: [https://support.opendns.com/entries/26336865-Clearing-the-DNS-Cache-on-Computers-Servers-and-Web-Browsers](https://support.opendns.com/entries/26336865-Clearing-the-DNS-Cache-on-Computers-Servers-and-Web-Browsers)
