 * I got an article published at [https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml](https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml).
   I want to repost the full content on my own blog. So I created the post, and
   in the Yoast canonical section I put [https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml](https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml).
   Is that the correct way to do this?

 * Hi [@raffibtc](https://wordpress.org/support/users/raffibtc/)
 * If we’re understanding it correctly, there’s an article published at [https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml](https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml).
 * Then you’ve reposted the full content of that article on your own blog, and you’ve
   set the canonical URL in the advanced section of the Yoast SEO meta box to [https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml](https://www.socialworktoday.com/archive/exc_070721.shtml).
 * Is your intention to point from your blog to the original version on socialworktoday.
   com? If so, then yes, setting the canonical URL to that would be correct.

 * Well, my real intention is just not to get dinged by Google for duplicate content.
   Have I succeeded at arranging that?

 * Hi [@raffibtc](https://wordpress.org/support/users/raffibtc/)
 * Yes, it won’t be considered as duplicate content as you’ve set the canonical
   to where the article was originally published.
