Cannot use with clients–Admin Area is one giant ad for Plugin Author

    This would be a useful plugin–I mean, who doesn’t want their website to load faster? I downloaded and installed it, and was appalled at the giant Advertisement for the author and his services in the Admin area (about 2x the fold of the screen).

    #1. Buy Premium Plugin–you get so much more!
    #2. Donate to the project
    #3. Hire me to develop your site

    I typically donate to plugins that are making me money, adding value to my clients, and saving me time–it is simply good karma and an investment in my business future. But, there is no way I could leave a client with 1200 pixels of advertisements in their admin area. It simply looks shoddy and unprofessional.

    That being said, the plugin wasn’t installed long enough to test the functionality. I’ll have to find another plugin or write my own.

    Thank you for your feedback.

    I commend you for donating to plugins that help your business grow. However, I can confirm through my own experience the consensus among many top plugin authors…the donation rate for free plugins in the WordPress repository is well under 1 percent. In fact, the hugely popular NextGEN Gallery itself only receives voluntary donations at a rate of 0.025%.

    While I appreciate your position in regards to developing for clients, the 400px promotional box on the settings page, and the Freemium model generally, is essential for me to be able to provide support for every single person that contacts me, as well as to keep both versions of the plugin up to date and continuously improving. Besides, Optimizer Premium is a great product and I want people to know about it!

    PS. The Premium version of Optimizer, as you’d expect, contains zero promotional material and is much better suited for use in a professional setting.
