Maybe you can tell me if there are some of these that I don’t need
Only you can determine that. If you don’t use any of those, get rid of them.
Now I have deactivated all menus but User Menus and Photo Gallery and it still does not show uploaded pictures, apart from 2 pictures. What do I do now?
Please attempt to deactivate all plugins and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-One theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.
How do I install Health Check & Troubleshooting?
From Plugins > Add New in your site’s Dashboard.
I cannot see Twenty Twenty-One, only Options for Twenty Twenty-One
You install themes from Themes > Add New in your site’s Dashboard.
I have downloaded it and what do I do now?
Ok, now activate the theme. Does the problem continue?
Now, one housekeeping note. This is a Sunday, and we’re all volunteers here.
I know this is frustrating, but I need you to do a bit more, and that includes reading back so I don’t have to spend my free time today repeating myself, ok?
You’ve got this, just please follow all of the steps already posted, and report back.
Activate? But I must install it first and how do I do that?
I know, I know, but I read that WP is SOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to use, but it DEFINITELY is NOT:
I made a mail programme before anyone heard about Internet.
I made the first website in the Danish educational are and have made a number of websites since then.
BUT NOT WITH WP. It SUCKS.Sorry if I am being rude.
But that’s why I suggested that someone should look into my website. Could have spared a lotof time.
And this trouble shooting thing tells me nothing about how to use it – only useless info like
Your site is currently in Troubleshooting Mode. This has no effect on your site visitors, they will continue to view your site as usual, but for you it will look as if you had just installed WordPress for the first time.
Here you can enable individual plugins or themes, helping you to find out what might be causing strange behaviors on your site. Do note that any changes you make to settings will be kept when you disable Troubleshooting Mode.
Plugin actions, such as activating and deactivating, are not available while in Troubleshooting Mode.
Yes, to see if you have no issues under the Twenty Twenty-One theme, you must first install it from Themes > Add New in your site’s Dashboard, and activate it from the Themes section of your site’s Dashboard or when prompted after install.
If Troubleshooting Mode is not clear enough in the Health Check plugin, you can find a guide at https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/
WordPress has full documentation at https://wordpress.org/support/
But before you do those more complicated things, did you try with all plugins deactivated, including the 2 you said you didn’t deactivate the first time?
There are no themes in my dashboard and I cannot activate my plugins.
But now you have messed it all up, thank you
And now I can wait a couple of days to have my post moderated, thank you so much!
Can you tell me why it is unacceptable to offer a password to someone?
I was not aware that you may not offer money, but that seems to be the only way to get help, and I am desperate to get it.
There are no themes in my dashboard
It is not possible to run WordPress without themes.
The only way to delete the active theme is to do so through the server directly.
But now you have messed it all up, thank you
I’m not sure what you did, but none of the steps I offered were destructive. They are standard troubleshooting procedures offered here to great success for at least the past 17 years. I’ve used them myself on occasion.
Try retracing your steps, especially anything you did differently than what was described.
Perhaps you’re still in Troubleshooting Mode? https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/
If so, you can just disable it from the top toolbar: https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/#navigating-while-troubleshooting
And now I can wait a couple of days to have my post moderated, thank you so much!
Your account is moderation watch for a while, due to the publicly posted password, and the offer to pay someone for work, now deleted, both of which are against forum rules: https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff
Though we are a small volunteer team, we do our best to clear the pending queue hourly.
However, please be mindful of the forum rules. You’ve so far broken 2 rules in less than 10 hours, and if that behavior continues, further action may be taken against your account.
If you have any questions about that, you can reach the Moderators in the #forums channel on our Slack instance: https://make.wordpress.org/chat/
Can you tell me why it is unacceptable to offer a password to someone?
Because of the extreme liability presented by it. If you share a password here, and someone uses it to destroy your site (remember, these are public forums), we would be liable for facilitating that.
If you truly must offer a password to someone, please hire someone via https://jobs.wordpress.net/ and do not accept, or offer, any jobs or direct access here.
Of course you could NEVER be liable for facilitating me giving a password to someone else as long as I don’t write it here.
I think I know as much about law as you know about WP.But I have given up to get help here.
Actually yes, as this has now somehow gotten into arguing legalities, we must close this thread per policy.
I wish you the best of luck, and please do follow the forum guidelines: https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/
