• Hello:

We are not able to perform WordPress Console updates of themes, plugins, or WordPress itself, from the dashboard, as it appears that your WordPress.org site does not have the GoDaddy.com root CA installed to verify our GoDaddy.com SHA2 SSL Certificate. While SSLShopper.com, SSLLabs.com, and several other SSL Checker sites can fully validate our SSL Certificate, we get this error when trying to perform a single-click theme, or plugin update, from your site using our WordPress GUI console. Here is the error:

    – “An error occurred while updating [Theme Name]:Download Failed. The SSL certificate for the host could not be verified.”

We host our own Web Server farm and seem to be only having this issue with the Web Servers configured with the WordPress CMS. We have verified our SSL installation on our Web Servers running WordPress, for Apache using several of the SSL Checkers listed above, set “FORCE_SSL_ADMIN” to false, and even attempted to run the updates from a non-HTTPS session, and are not successful.

Does WordPress have plans on upgrading their root SSL CA’s for the various SSL Vendors so that we can continue to install WordPress on our new servers, or is there a work-around so that we can update the components via the GUI?

    Thank you.
