# Cannot Update Published Pages

 * I inherited a WP site, deanwhitlock.com. I moved the db and wp-content to my 
   host. The site displays properly and I can make changes in the WP editors. Using
   the Editor to change, for example, footer.php, works fine and updates that file
   properly. Editing a page, My Fiction, for example, saves the changes within WP
   when I press Update. But it does NOT rewrite the index.html file. I have no idea
   why not.

 * The index.html part is redundant by the way.

 * So you edit the page, press update, and the content of the page does not change
   at all?
 * You say you have moved host – just to check – DNS has definitely updated right?
   I assume so, but worth asking just in case…

 * Yes to the dns question. I can FTP changes or edit files in cPanel File Manager
   and see the changes. But those index.html files don’t get updated so the browser-
   displayed content never changes.

 * Is the site using a caching plugin?

 * No. And that wouldn’t prevent writing and time-stamping a new html file. And 
   that isn’t happening.
