Apparently no connection is being made to my server, if I interpret the message in the browser correctly (Chrome): “No data received “Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data. “Reload this webpage “Press the reload button to resubmit the data needed to load the page. “Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE” * Explorer: “This page can’t be displayed •Make sure the web address [http://www.MYSITE.com](http://www.MYSITE.com) is correct. •Look for the page with your search engine. •Refresh the page in a few minutes.” * In the address bar is: [http://www.MYSITE.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-theme-upgrade](http://www.MYSITE.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-theme-upgrade) or [http://www.MYSITE.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade](http://www.MYSITE.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade) * The issue occurs with separate installations on the same Web host: GoDaddy, but since this has never been a problem before, I’m stumped. * Thanks for any help. I renamed the jetpack plugin folder and was able to load the homepage. However, I now get an internal server error( 500) when I try to get to the admin page. I’m submitting the info with the error message to Jetpack support as we speak. * Replace all but the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php file. From / wp-admin/themes.php I clicked the link /wp-admin/update.php?action=upgrade-theme& theme=responsive&_wpnonce=813d33009c and the update proceeded. * However, trying to update from /wp-admin/update-core.php resulted in the messages in the original post in this thread. * [impolex](https://wordpress.org/support/users/impolex/) * (@impolex) * [11 years, 6 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cannot-update-plugins-from-admin-panel/#post-5277973) * Having a very similar but more extensive issues after upgrading to 4.0 on a Local installation. * I’m getting this issue when trying to Update plugins but also when: – trying to reactivate both third party and custom plugins that previously worked; most of them were even fine after the upgrade but eventually broke – When trying to reactivate a custom theme that I had temporarily disabled for debugging purposes * I’ll let you know if I find anything out.
