Cannot update Magic Fields on posts with more than 7 field groups

    I’ve removed all plugins from my site, thinking this was a conflict, but still no go. After heavy experimentation, here’s what happens:

    I have a Magic Field write panel with one duplicatable group (3 fields) in it, which I’m using with Posts.

    I was able to set up each post just fine, but when I try to edit any post with 8 or more of the field groups, changes refuse to save to any existing items, and I cannot add new groups (well, I can, but as soon as I hit “Update” it reverts to the original set-up). Or delete old ones. I can, however, change the content in the standard post/page field, and have it “stick.”

    On pages where I have 7 or so items, I can make changes to the fields that stick after pressing “Update.”

    Help!

    I take it back. I CANNOT figure out the pattern of when it’ll update and when it won’t.

    Right now I have a test post set up. Adding an 8th group sometimes sticks, sometimes doesn’t, sometimes reverts to what the fields contained a few “Update” presses ago, sometimes lets me remove the 8th group, sometimes doesn’t.

    It does seem to be tied to that 8th field group, though. When I have 7 or less, I’m able to edit everything consistently.

    What the heck?
