# Cannot update category settings

 * My site has been up and running for some time now, but yesterday I encountered
   a bug that prevents me from updating the details of any of my categories (both
   post and product categories either, given that I’m running WooCommerce).
 * When I select ‘categories’ from the post or product menu it brings the list of
   all categories up. I can use the Quick Edit feature there to change their titles.
   However when I go into an individual category’s settings page and make changes(
   to any of the fields, even the title), the ‘Update’ button at the bottom doesn’t
   do anything. It gets a highlight around the edge but that’s it. No confirmation,
   no error anywhere on the page, and reloading shows that none of the changes were
   saved.
 * This occurs both for existing categories and brand new ones.
 * I’m aware of issues arising when there are tags and categories with the same 
   name however there are no conflicts on my site.

 * Just checked and the same behaviour is happening for the ‘Tags’ settings pages
   as well, not just categories.
 * These were working perfectly originally and it is only recently that they have
   encountered issues.
