# Cannot update

 * I’m getting the following error when I try to update Wordfence.
    An error occurred
   while updating Wordfence Security: Could not copy file. wordfence/wordfence.php
 * How can I resolve this?

 * Hi,
 * I’d recommend backing up your settings and removing Wordfence and table data 
   completely. Then do a clean install and import your settings.
 * Export Settings:

 * Remove Wordfence:
