Support » Plugin: User Role Editor » cannot uncheck ‘upload_files’

  • Hi,

Every time I click on the ‘update’ button after unchecking the ‘upload_files’ capability for the role ‘Customer’, it reverts checking it again. It is so strange and frustrating.

    See screenshot: https://i.postimg.cc/ZRfwNr2H/cannot-uncheck-upload-files.png

What is causing this and how can it be resolved?

I want to uncheck these capabilities for the roles customer and shop_keeper because I dislike the ‘WordPress Add Media Manager’ interface for a file upload.

Do you know how I can offer the user a simple, non-‘WordPress’ interface when uploading an file?

In other words, I am trying to avoid offering a registered user an interface like this when uploading a file from their computer:

    Kind regards,

    Yunis

    Hi,

I can not help with changing user interface.
If you can not revoke some capability, it may be granted automatically by some plugin. Try to deactivate all plugins temporally. Will it help with revoke of upload_files capability from a role. If Yes, activate plugins back, to isolate one which modifies roles on the fly.
