• I have checked “Allow people to post comments on new articles”, and on the individual blogs I have also checked “Allow Comments.” But none of the blogs show any places to submit comments. This happens even when I change themes. When I view the page.php file for my original theme, I see the line:
    <?php comments_template(); ?>
    I have also removed all plugins. This is a new (~ a month old) wordpress installation that has never had comments yet, and I am trying set them up.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Vilis

  • Does your theme include a comments.php file?

    Yes, it includes a comments.php file.

    <?php comments_template(); ?>
    in page.php allows comments on single pages….so you’ve checked there?

    You would need tht same line on single.php and/or index.php to allow commenting on posts

    Both page.php and single.php have that code in there. index.php doesn’t. I put it in now but it has no effect.

    Note that I have this problem even using the Classic and the Default themes.

    Might there be some kind of permissions problem?
