    Hello+
I exported Products from Site A and imported them to Site B. All went well, until I noticed that Site B is showing “related products”…However, that is not set on the back-end of Site B. I go to Products > choose a product > scroll down to Linked Products > Upsells is blank and Cross-sells is blank…But, when I view the product on the front end it is showing the Related Products Section at the bottom of that page with product suggestions there. Site A did have Related Products, but Site B does not have them (yet, and when it does they will not be the same as on Site A)…I tried adding something into the Upsells and/or Cross-sells on site B and they show along with the ones that were already showing (so it duplicated the Related Products section). Then I deleted those and left Upsells and Cross-sells blank which removed the duplicates, but not the original Related Products that I need to get rid of. Please advise.
    Thank you.

    Hi @evelynmsdesigngraphicscom,

Without taking a look at the exact page where you see this related products section, it’s hard to tell where exactly it is coming from. It might be coming from your theme, or even from a plugin like Jetpack.

If it’s not coming from an additional plugin, you should be able to remove that section using the code detailed on this doc:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/remove-related-posts-output/

If you aren’t very comfortable with coding, I’d recommend using the CSS code, over the PHP one – as it is easier to add from the Dashboard.

    Hopefully that helps!

Thank you, @fhaps, I am comfortable using either option – I appreciate your time and efforts on this. I am not using JetPack on either site.

I do have some clarification questions about removing the Related Products via either solution…Hopefully, you can provide guidance…

    1. If I add the code via PHP file or CSS, then that will block ALL Related Products (even if it is filled out on the Individual Product Page) – correct?

    2. If so, then I cannot use either suggestion since my issue is that right now none of the individual products have anything in their related products sections filled out, but each is showing the related products – those were copied over via WooCommerce’s export/import function from site A to site B.

I would like to remove site A’s related products from site B so that I can make Site B’s own related products (as they are not the same).

    3. Do I need to export from site A differently? (i.e. tell it during the export process to ‘not copy’ some specific item or something)

    4. If so, then what exactly should I tell the export to ‘not copy’ from site A?

    Please advise. Thank you.

Again, could you share with us a link to one of the product pages affected by this? That way we can look at the issue directly and make appropriate suggestions.

If the linked products were part of the import, you should be able to see them (and delete them) when looking at the Linked Products tab of the Edit Product screen. However, I understand you said those fields show up empty. So, the information is either not coming from that section, or something during the import process corrupted the file and is not allowing that information to be properly displayed in the corresponding tab.

Let us know if you can share that page with us.

My apologies @fhaps…is there a way to give that information to you without it showing up in this forum or privately? The site is not live yet…

@evelynmsdesigngraphicscom I’m afraid not. I understand your concerns, but having that information hidden from the community could limit the potential of someone else sharing input that might help your sort this out.

Did you try using the CSS code? It might not necessarily hide both related product sections. Fore example, this site of my own also has related products in two separate rows:

The first one contains products that I added in the Linked Products tab of the product configuration.

The second row, the one specifically titled Related products, is added automatically, without any input from me.

Using the CSS code in that document I shared above would only hide the second row, not the first one.

@fhaps, thank you for the clarification and quick responses. I appreciate your time and efforts on this issue. I understand that allowing others in this forum access to view the issue could provide additional solutions, but…Unfortunately, my client will not allow the site to be previewed by anyone until it is live and this issue needs to be resolved before it can go live.

In order for you to see the issue, you must log into the back-end and then go to the page – since the front-end is not viewable yet on the internet…It is a shame you are not able to allow me a way to share with you privately access to the site….

Also, according to your answer above – you indicated that the code and/or CSS would hide the Related Products, even when that section is filled in…Therefore, I do not think that is a viable solution since I need to only remove the imported-from-Site-A Related Products.

I am curious about the export functionality provided by WooCommerce, though. Originally, I did just allow it to export all of the products ‘as is’ from Site A…Is there a way in that export procedure to NOT allow it to export the Related Products? If so, please tell me how to not allow the export functionality to not copy the Related Products section. (I will then delete all of it from Site B and re-export from Site A and re-import to Site B and see if that resolves things.)

    Please advise.

Also, according to your answer above – you indicated that the code and/or CSS would hide the Related Products, even when that section is filled in…

That’s not what I said, actually. If you see the image I shared above, there are two sections, one titled You may also like... and another one titled Related products. The products that I manually added in the Linked Products tab are the ones in the first section (You may also like…). The CSS code would only remove the second section, the one titled Related products.

Is there a way in that export procedure to NOT allow it to export the Related Products?

After you have exported your products in a CSV file, you can edit that CSV file and remove any columns that you don’t wish to be imported.

@fhaps, Thank you for the clarifications. I misunderstood…However, I would like to keep the Linked Products section available for that specific purpose and the Related Products section for its specific purpose on this particular site. I will keep your suggestion in mind for future eCommerce sites.

Thank you for the exported CSV clarification as well. I will do as suggested.
