Ok! I just got the Contact Form 7 (by using all the default settings except for mail adress) earlier today. It worked. I received an email from the contact form.
Now, a few hours later, it’s not working anymore. And I haven’t changed a thing. Contact Form 7 has been acting like that all the time. It just seems to stop working totally spontaneously, then go back to working again.
Am I the only one that has this problem? If not, have you found a permanent solution?
Other threads in here mentions that the problem is with the mail provider, and that using @gmail.com instead of @mysite.com fixes the problem.
This is not true. I have tried both ways. Sometimes they both work, sometimes none of them work.
Has anyone found a permanent fix to this? It’s becoming quite frustrating.
Thanks!

Okay, I’ve come a little closer.
It seems that with the current form built from Contact Form 7 (default setup) with the following:
– Full name
– Email adress
– Enter the CAPTCHA
– Subject
– Message
– Yes, I would like to subscribe to Value Team’s newsletter
The check box for the newsletter I added myself and is more or less irrelevant for the success or not of the form itself.
Now, what I noticed is that this form works fine when testing it on my LIVE server. I can inserte my work email adress ufo(at)valueteam.biz into the email text field and send it off. No problem, it works fine.
But somehow if I use my own private email adress ufoldager(at)gmail.com, it wont send the form off.
That is so odd, and I have no idea why 1 email adress works but the other one doesn’t.
Can anyone help me shed some light on this? Takayuki maybe?
PS: I have tried using other email adresses as well. Some work, some don’t.
Form is at: http://www.valueteam.biz/wordpress/contact-us/

Still no solution found to this issue. We’ve launched our website now, but sometimes it still doesn’t quite work.
ConfigureSMTP is sending test emails fine.
Here’s our website: http://www.valueteam.biz/about-us/contact-us/.
Can anyone help me with this, please?
Bassa, I had a similar issue. Do you have the above error with an Orange or Red box?
I had the error with an orange box. It seems like it was a possible problem with my caching plugin. I’ve changed the options to exclude my contact form page from being cached. It’s working now. But, I’ll keep monitoring it.

I am getting the Red Box error (failed to send message).
Also, I am using the W3 Total Cache plugin but haven’t done anything with it yet. It is installed and activated, though.

I deactivated my Configure SMTP plugin – and VOILA! – now the Contact Form 7 plugin works fine!
HI bassa,
I am getting the same problem as you have faced Red Box error (failed to send message). is there any supporting plugin needed to work.
Thanks in advance

I don’t think so, no.
I had a plugin installed called Configure SMTP and it was activated.
I deactivated it and then the Contact Form 7 worked fine.
That was my solution.
Has anyone else tried sending a Gmail or Yahoo email? is it working for them? I’m testing out the form and noticing that when I send from one of those it doesn’t go through…
hi bassa
Can you give me a little direction on what you did exactly? I really don’t know where to begin, but I need to fix my faulty contact form.
is there any problem with the hosting server i use b4u?
Thanks in advance

The only thing I did was to deactivate the “Configure SMTP”-plugin I had installed.
That seemed to fix it.
