Support » Localhost Installs » Cannot select database

  • Hello, I am having some problems when installing wordpress, when entering the following information:

    Database Name: wordpress
    Username: root
    Password: empty
    Database Host: localhost
    Table Prefix: wp_

I have the error “Cannot select database”

I have created the database called wordpress, but it keeps giving me the error.

I have realized that I have an error (I don’t know if it has something to do with the error I am having), which I have found in the “Privileges” tab while I was inside my database, as you can see next:

And, at the top of the “Operations” tab, I get the following: phpMyAdmin configuration storage has been disabled, you can see it here:

I have had these errors after finishing installing xampp, and following a tutorial.
    Thank you.

Your XAMPP installation appears to be corrupted. I recommend removing it and reinstalling. Instructions on how to do both are in the FAQs of the download site.

Obtain a fresh, new download. Install the new version from an administrator or super user account.
