# Cannot save – strange database error message – please help.

 * This is happening 75% of the time now as opposed to a much much less frequently
   a month ago.
 * When trying to save edits or publish a new story I sometimes get the following
   error.
 * When going back to the story after seeing this message sometimes the edits are
   saved sometimes they are not.
 * Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
 *     ```
       WordPress database error: [Duplicate entry " for Key 2]
       INSERT INTO wp_terms (name, slug, term_group) VALUES ('', '', '0')
   
       Wordpress database error: [Duplicate entry '0-post_tag' for key 2]
       INSERT INTO wp_term_taxonomy (term_id, taxonomy, description, parent, count) VALUES ('0', 'post_tag', '', '0', '0')

 * Wonder if something hasn’t happened to the indexes on you tables.
 * See if your tables have the correct indexes using [phpMyAmdin](http://codex.wordpress.org/phpMyAmdin).
 * Here’s what my 2.3.1 indexes look like for the 3 terms related tables.

 * Thanks for the reply but to be honest I am not really sure what I am looking 
   for or how to correct it, any chance of a link that could explain it, it is getting
   to the point where people cannot post new stories.

 * I was looking around some forums and some suggested I “drop ” all the plugin 
   tables.
 * I am thinking about backing up and repopulating the database but I have no idea
   if this will help.
 * I would say 85% of new posts now get this error.

 * Is there are any other resources someone could point me in the direction of, 
   our blog is basically crippled until I fix this.
