Help! Just moved a functioning WordPress-built website from GoDaddy to iPower to host. All files and database have been transferred and look to be in proper place, but site now (bcec.us) opens to a static front page that has lost some formatting, links, and photos. When I try to get into WordPress to review it gives error messages like, “Oh no, we couldn’t fetch your posts” or “there was a problem fetching your menu data”. iPower only says the files and data base look ok, but can’t troubleshoot any further. Can you help me? Thanks.

  • If you look at dev tools with your browser, you will see a javascript error for a script that runs the menus, as well as a few missing images. Fix those and and also resave your thme options. “there was a problem fetching your menu data” is a theme error, not a WordPress error.

Use developer tools in Firefox (or Firebug) or Chrome or Safari or IE.

Thanks songdogtech! It turned out to be a file that the server thought was a virus. Rewriting it cured the problem.
