# Cannot retrieve my username

 * I feel lame, but I cannot retrieve my username. It’s been a while since we entered
   our last blog entry and we have, apparently, forgotten our username &/or password
   and do not know how to proceed to retrieve it. I tried to get the system to reset
   my password, and it said that I would be receiving an email at the email address
   in my account, which must be a different email address than anyone I regularly
   use. Our blog was setup by a third party, who no longer is working for us, and
   the email address used for admin purposes may have been their email address. 
   When I tried to type in my email address, it, apparently, is not recognized by
   the system.
 * The bottom line is I cannot retrieve my password and am not sure I even have

   Please, please, someone, help!

 * Thank you, but it asks me what version of WordPress is being used, and I don’t
   know the answer to that or where to look it up and, even then, it appears that
   the address where the emails are being sent must not be my current email address.
   What do I do in such a situation?

 * did you read the whole page?
    There are other methods where you don’t use email
   there is even a script you can download at the bottom of the page look at all
   of it
