cannot redeclare fetch

  • my client updated their NextGen Gallery and now there is an error on the page:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare _fetch_remote_file() (previously declared in /home/sadmin/html/www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com/blog/wp-includes/rss_fetch.inc:258) in /home/sadmin/html/www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com/blog/wp-includes/rss.php on line 556

Where do I even begin to help fix this problem? It has not been upgraded to 2.8.1 yet, currently running 2.8.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

    Thanks for the input, esmi.

I deactivated a firstrss plugin and that remedied the problem.
