    Hi Folks,
I could not post to Facebook with V3.0.2 after update.
I rolled back to V3.0.1 and was able to post the 4 posts which the 3.0.2 update could not deal with, after the cache was cleared.
Basically Facebook was only able to find the site URL. It could not show the post title, author name, excerpt or author image.
From a cursory inspection on the page source, the meta property og was complete and correct.
    Regards and thanks,
    Angus

    Hi Angus,

Do you mean that you weren’t able to automatically share your posts on Facebook or that your Open Graph markup wasn’t showing up when you tried to share them?

    @arnaudbroes Hi Arnaud,
I use the ‘AddToAny’ plugin to share to social media. However I also post directly to Facebook by manually inserting the specific post URLs to one Facebook account.
Neither means worked on V3.0.2 and Facebook was showing the ‘error format’, meaning that is was reading the site URL only and not any further open graph information.
I was surprised that it worked when I reverted to V3.0.1 as that mean that our post URLs – and the OG data – had not been added to the Facebook cache. If it had been, it would have again rendered the old error message and not allowed me to get the correct data up.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards and thanks,
    Angus

What is the URL of a post exhibiting this behavior? Please upgrade back to 3.0.2 and we’ll have a look.

    Hi Michael,
I think we can close this issue now.
I have been testing and it seems the issue is with Facebook. The fact that our 4x posts all failed just after I updated to 3.0.2 was coincidental.
I have reinstalled 3.0.2 and it now works fine.
I tested with many old posts and found Facebook slower and more erratic than usual. I believe this slow reading is corrupting data which then get fixed on a retry. If Facebook was working correctly, a retry would certainly provide a cached version, which it was not.
    Thank for your attention.
    Regards,
    Angus

@hiskingdomprophecy Thanks for letting us know. Facebook can certainly be buggy, and yours isn’t the first support thread here started as a result. 🙂

Also, these are the standard troubleshooting steps for Facebook sharing as a starting point for any troubles. https://semperplugins.com/documentation/troubleshooting-incorrect-social-meta-when-sharing-or-publishing-content/
