cannot open login or admin page

  • After I installer WordPress, I am trying to acess page http://domainname.com/wp-admin/

    I am seeing “problem loading page” on Mozilla Firefox and “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” on IE browser.

    I am stuck at the very beginning. What to do?

    It’s fresh site, I have just bought the domain and hosted the space, installed WordPress and stuck after that….

    What could be wrong? I guess I have to change some settings, but do not know which ??

    It also does not work on Google Chrome here on my PC.

    Have you tried another web browser? Or another computer?

    Three different browsers. I’ll try on another computer in a minute and will post the result.

    Just checked on another PC, another OS. Not working either.

    What could it be?

    Do I need WordPress installed somewhere on my PC?

    No. You only need a web browser and an internet connection. Since this appears to be specific to your current location, I can only assume that there’s an issue between your ISP and your hosting company. Try contacting your hosts and see if they can assist you with this.

    I asked a friend to check, and it also works on his PC.

    When I try to acess the page in Mozilla Firefox, it says “The connection is reset”.

    Works fine for me in Firefox. Try clearing any browser cache/cookies, restart your computer and restart your ISP modem/router.

    I’m sorry but the site – and the login page – is working for me, so I can only assume that this is a purely local issue. Have you contacted your hosts about it?

    It seems that it works for everyone except for me 🙁
    I have tried and restarted the router, PC etc etc etc…

    Hosting company told me (on a chat) that it can be a kind of DNS issue of my ISP and that I have to wait…

    While you are waiting for the Hosting company, you can try clearing your local DNS cache. This can be done by following these steps:

    1. Open cmd.exe (Start->Search->cmd.exe)
    2. Type ipconfig /flushdns

    Note: this operation will require admin rights. So if you are running it in user mode, you will need to start the cmd.exe as administrator. In order to do this:

    1. Right click on cmd.exe
    2. Run as Administrator
