Cannot open home page. All other pages work.

    I just installed wordpress on my macbook using MAMP. I imported my live website backup and everything transfered fine. I can log into the admin dashboard section and make changes/edit the site. I can open specific posts for instance localhost/mywebsite/nameofpost. However I cannot go to localhost/mywebsite. The actual homepage will not open.The message I get is:

    This site can’t be reached

    localhost refused to connect.
    Search Google for localhost private thrifty
    ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
