Hi. I just started building a new site on my server at Blue Host, where I have two other WordPress websites hosted. I am using C-Panel 11 and have never had any trouble with the other two installations. I loaded them all with Simple Scripts.

I cannot make this one publicly visible. The website is http://www.scbchurch.info Is there something I don’t know about .info domains? I can’t get it to go public with Joomla or Mambo, either. I can build a beautiful website, but it always asks for a username and password.

I hope someone here can help. My hair is almost gone…

It is 401 Authorization Error. Not anything with info domain name, it is open to public domain name, anyone can register.
The only odd is .tel domain name, all others are basically same.

    Fixing 401 Authorization Error :

It is practically an odd error and difficult to say from frontend as you have tested with WordPress, Joomla, Mambo etc. Look for the .htaccess file or any file with the dot starting. Make them inactive by adding bak (like bak.htaccess). If it does not get fixed, then ask Bluehost telling your nice story.

If still does not get fixed, change the DNS to point towards your newly created WordPress.com free blog : http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
This is actually a temporary free of cost test to check whether the problem is with server as 401 can happen with wrong Apache httpd.conf file configuration too.

You can search with 401 error fix, but beware ! Users also asks and posts to get 401 error fixed.

Thanks! Problem is fixed. For some reason, there was a password sitting on a directory of a domain that I’ve had parked for years. All is well, and painfully simple… (must always remember… look for simple answer first… beating myself on head with hammer…lol)
