By doing that you ‘moved’ your blog.
See: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
You should be able to just rename the blog folder to ‘home’ and fix that part, though it won’t solve the problem.
You probably meant to do this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory
The problem is I can’t even log in to http://www.site.com/home/wp-login.php. It just says page cannot be found. If I take out the “home” then I can get to the log in page but it just says again. Page cannot be found.
I get that. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
You already did the part where you changed the URIs. What you need to do NOW is move the blog itself. Or we can just ‘back it out’
Go into wp-config.php
and add these lines:
define('WP_HOME','http://site.com/OLDURL');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://site.com/OLDURL');
You should be able to get back in and fix your blog URIs.
Sorry…but how do I get into wp-config.php?
I so appreciate your help!
It is in the root of your wordpress install.
I only have wp-config-sample. Sorry I am such a newbie to this!
It will be on your server. If you installed your site by going to the wordpress install address e.g. yourdomain.com WordPress uses the sample file to create the real one and then places it on the server. Grad it from there using FTP.
Ok…I just got in…duh. Totally forgot where they were on Media Temple.
I added those above lines and it didn’t work. I obviously changed it to my real website. Still no go.
I decided to try the database option. It worked. thank you!
