Support » Plugin: Wordfence Security - Firewall & Malware Scan » Cannot login to admin, Fatal error: Uncaught wfWAFStorageFileException

  • On a couple of sites I get this error:
    Fatal error: Uncaught wfWAFStorageFileException: Unable to save temporary file for atomic writing. in ***/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/storage/file.php:13 Stack trace: #0 ***/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/storage/file.php(497): wfWAFStorageFile::atomicFilePutContents('/srv/users/kamp...', '<?php exit('Acc...') #1 [internal function]: wfWAFStorageFile->saveConfig() #2 {main} thrown in ***/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/storage/file.php on line 13
    Also can’t login to admin at all. No error or anything, login page just seems to reload.

    Tried renaming wflogs as per this topic:
    and the error goes away but I still canät login to admin.

  • Hi,
    There must be another error preventing you from logging in the dashboard, did you try to check the server error log files? you can get in contact with your web host if you don’t know where is the server error log file, or edit (wp-config.php) and replace this line:
    define('WP_DEBUG', false);

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

    So, when you try to log in to the dashboard next time, you can check this file (/wp-content/debug.log) for any error messages.

    Let me know how it goes,
