 * I can’t login anymore when Wordfence is active. If I try to login I keep getting
   a warning message that I need to verify it is me and that I need to click on
   a link that has been sent by email. However, I haven’t received any emails. The
   only way to get rid of the message was by disabling via FTP. Then the warning
   message disappeard from the login page and I could login.
 * How can this be solved?

 * I am having this problem too, since about 3 days ago. Our other site admin can
   log in as normal but I can’t, even though nothing obvious has changed. This issue
   is baffling.
   Also, how do you access via FTP?

 * Hi [@enna123](https://wordpress.org/support/users/enna123/),
 * Are you able to send/receive test emails from **Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics
   > Other Tests > Send a test email from this WordPress server to an email address**?
   Let us know whether you receive an email. Be sure to check the spam/junk inbox,
   too.
 * If you are not receiving any emails, you might want to check:
    - The emails (they come from [wordpress@yoursitename.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cannot-login-125/wordpress@yoursitename.com?output_format=md))
      are getting sent to your junk mail folder by your email client or provider.
      Make sure and whitelist or add your website to the list of safe domains so
      you get emails consistently.
    - Your web server is having a problem with the email software on it. This isn’t
      like regular emails you send and receive, but rather server alert messages.
      Usually, a restart of postfix or sendmail (whichever is installed) can fix
      it. Your hosting provider may need to help with this.
    - Your hosting provider has disabled SMTP from the server for some reason like
      preventing the server from being used to spam people.
    - You have a third party plugin for sending emails with another service, like
      Gmail, which isn’t working. Reaching out to the plugin author for support
      can help.
 * Thanks,
   Margaret

 * Hi [@enna123](https://wordpress.org/support/users/enna123/),
 * Thank you for checking that.  The test emails are sent out the same way as the
   verification emails, so please check your spam folder for the verification emails
   if you haven’t already.  Please also update to Wordfence 7.11.5, as there was
   an update made to reCAPTCHA verification.
 * We don’t receive inside information from Google about why a human may sometimes
   receive a low enough score to always require verification.  If you’re still unable
   to receive the verification emails after updating, please try logging in (bypassing
   Wordfence if needed) and enable **Run reCAPTCHA in test mode** in **Wordfence
   > Login Security > Settings**.  You can then log in and view the reCAPTCHA scores
   statistics in **Wordfence > Login Security > Settings > reCAPTCHA human/bot threshold
   score**.  Leaving this mode enabled for a short time will allow you to see what
   sort of scores you get.
 * Please note that our 2FA and reCAPTCHA features are only supported for the default
   WordPress/WooCommerce login and registration pages and may not work on custom
   versions of these pages created manually or by other plugins/themes.
 * Thanks,
   Margaret

 * I’ve updated to 7.11.5 and haven’t seen the warning message since.
