cannot log into dashboard anymore

Hi,

I cannot get into the dashboard anymore.

I have tried many different things down to, as a last resort, the emergency.php script. The script succeeded but I still could not login.

I get the feeling that nothing actually happens when I login; as if the login screen isn’t attached to any script at all. I know how this must sound..

Please help me out. Perhaps it is so simple I’m overseeing it, perhaps not but I have spent over 7 hours altogether trying to get past this.

By the way: I have ftp access.
