# Cannot log in

 * This website has disappeared and I can’t get into the back end of this website
   I created.
    via wordpress.org. Online I just get an error message ‘Error establishing
   a database connection’ when I try to view the site .. I have checked to see if
   the host server is offline but all seems fine and the files are there.
 * I haven’t had any emails from this site for general maintenance or updates from
   WordPress for a while either ..and the login doesn’t work.. could it have been
   de-activated??

 * Error establishing a database connection :
 * This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.
   php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at 212.53.86.204.
   This could mean your host’s database server is down.
 * I would recommend approaching your hosting provider.

 * Hey durbantv,
 * As of now, you won’t be able to connect your website either front-end or back-
   end, as the error is related to the Database connection.
 * So Hosting team can check if there is any change at their end,
 * “Error establishing a database connection” means that there is a problem with
   the connection to your database
    – a problem with the credentials stored in the
   wp-config.php file not matching what MySQL expects. – Try reviewing the following
