# cannot install updates

 * I’ve been trying and although it worked in the past I can no longer install updates
   to this plugin. I would like to resolve it. Can you provide any insight.
    All
   it says is Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable
   to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. currently

 * Hi BlackDuckSoftware.
 * It sounds like the file permissions on your web server are so restricted that
   WordPress can’t update or write new files into the plugins folder.

 * There are plugins out there that attempt to fix these kinds of issues, but I 
   don’t know any well enough to recommend them.

 * Hi Julka, & thanks for the note… the weird thing to me is that I can update every
   plugin except three – so it’s not about the folder in general. I made the same
   diagnosis (but I don’t have access to the server).
