# Cannot Install // PHP and Mysql Errors?!

 * Hello, my host recently updated the PHP and GD settings on the hosted sites.
 * My two wordpress blogs stopped functioning; one was 1.2.1 and the other 1.5 (
   some nightly from Jan).
 * I killed the 1.5 one, since it was non-critical, and have been trying to do a
   clean install.
 * Nothing is working, and it’s driving me crazy! I keep getting the following message:
 * “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for 
   WordPress.”
 * I’ve alternately tried creating new databases, new users, new passwords, etc 
   but nothing works. Here is the 1.5 install dir. I’ve not installed it because
   nothing works! argh!

 * “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for 
   WordPress.”
 * That message suggests that this is something your host needs to fix. If WordPress
   can’t get PHP to connect to MySQL, it won’t ever work.
 * Ask your host to fix whatever they broke.
