# Cannot import

 * In my network install I have a problem when I attempt to import a blog (following
   the instructions [here](http://codex.wordpress.org/Migrating_Multiple_Blogs_into_WordPress_3.0_Multisite)).
 * When I click on Tools > Import > WordPress, I am presented with a blank screen.

 * A white screen is a php error. Check your error logs.

 * Here was the problem:
 * Need to Install the importer before you can use it. But since I was trying to
   import to a sub-site (rather than the main site) I just got a blank screen rather
   than the “Install Plugin” screen.
 * Solution was to go to the main site and click import and install the importer(
   even though I don’t want to import the content to that site). Once the importer
   is installed, I could then go to the child site and import the content into it.
 * I think this should be bugged up and / or documented.

 * You know, I was going to ask if you had installed the plugin. 🙂 It is supposed
   to come up and tell you to install it.
 * Bug report would go to whoever’s in charge of the plugin.
