Cannot highlight text and click links due to a disabled "invisible" sidebar

  • I wanted to make the single post area wider, so I needed to disable one of the sidebars (explanation here). Other forumers helped me to get rid of it, it looks good, but now I have a different problem. Though the sidebar is gone, now I can’t highlight text or click links in the area where it once stood. I inspected the area with web development tools, and it is still considered occupied by a sidebar (sidebar, sidebarinner..). The area is now like covered with an invisible sidebar (layer). How can i remove it completely? Thanks.
