cannot hide tags using Forte theme

  • I have read all the threads about hiding tags yet I was still unable to remove them. I see the_tags and tag cloud mentioned in many php files, such as index, post, template, configure, etc. But they all come in the format of if… then . Sorry about my language, I’m new to php.

    It seems that I cannot get to the root of the problem. If I could only find the one place that I should remove this, it would be great. But it’s nowhere to be found. Please help!!!

    P.S. index.php file also contains conditional use of the_tag so nothing happens when I remove it from there.

  • I just read a thread where it was suggested to not have any tags at all since search engines follow links and not tags. Is that true?

    Ok, I figured it out. Since I know some people have this issue too, I thought I will tell you what I did.

    The tags are still there, they are just hidden. I’ve hidden the tags by making changes in the style.css file. I found the

    .fileunder tag and addedd display:none;

    I did the same with .postedby

    Hope that helps to some!
