# Cannot get jQuery to function in WordPress.

 * I am currently working with a fresh installation of the [Starkers](http://starkerstheme.com/)
   theme and I am unable to get jQuery functioning within the template. I am using
   wp_enqueue_script(“jquery”); before the wp_head(); call. When I view the source
   of my frontpage I can click the link to the jQuery library so the page appears
   to be correctly referencing the library, but when I try to incorporate any jQuery
   code into the site it is nonfunctional. I will include my header.php code here:
